There is no such thing as a perfect material.
Every alloy has its own qualities, constraints and character. Density, stiffness, strength, machinability and durability: each material offers a different balance.
At FAUVE, we believe that no material is inherently superior to another. It all depends on the function of the part, the instrument, the expectations of the musician or luthier... and sometimes simply on the pleasure of owning a beautifully crafted object.
That is why we offer a range of materials, from the most widely used alloys to the most exclusive. Each has its own identity and its own reason for being.
The right material is not the most prestigious one. It is the one that best matches the intention of the person who chooses it.

DETAILS SHAPE CHARACTER
The greatest differences often come from details that are not noticed at first glance.
Softened curves and radii to naturally accommodate palm muting. A carefully designed string path to reduce stress on the string. A ball-end seat engineered to preserve the string. Pre-radiused saddles to match the fingerboard radius. Discreet mounting references that make bridge positioning easier.
Taken individually, each of these choices may seem insignificant. Together, they improve playing comfort, simplify installation, protect the strings and contribute to the overall coherence of the design.
At FAUVE, we place as much importance on the details you cannot see as on those you can. Because it is often these design choices that define the quality of a piece of hardware.
Details are not meant to attract attention. They give the instrument its character.

True Axis Technology™
On a compensated bridge, the saddles are generally oriented according to the angle required for intonation adjustment. This geometry creates a slight misalignment between the saddle axis, the string, and its contact point.
True Axis Technology™ reorients each saddle so that its contact axis naturally follows the path of the string while preserving the compensation required for accurate intonation adjustment.
This approach reflects our philosophy: when a function can be improved, every detail deserves to be reconsidered.

True Radius Technology™
Traditional saddles are generally all identical. The fingerboard radius is then achieved by individually adjusting the height of each saddle, altering their intended operating geometry.
True Radius Technology™ saddles are compensated for precise intonation adjustment, pre-radiused to a 9.5" radius, and designed in matched pairs (E/A, D/G and B/E). Each pair features its own specific geometry, allowing it to naturally reproduce the fingerboard radius while preserving a full adjustment range to accommodate the unique characteristics of each instrument.
This design allows the saddles to operate within their optimal geometry. The string guide ramps maintain their intended orientation, mechanical stress on the strings is reduced, and adjustments become more repeatable during string changes and maintenance operations.
This approach reflects our philosophy: adjustment should not compensate for the design of a component, but simply adapt it to the specific characteristics of each instrument.
