ORION Top Load reinterprets the Hardtail bridge around a compact architecture in which string routing, saddle guidance, and spring operation have been designed as a unified system.
Its six independent saddles allow precise adjustment of intonation and radius. Its slightly asymmetrical design stems directly from this mechanical arrangement.
Here again, form is the consequence of function.
Integrated anchoring.
On the ORION Top Load, the strings are anchored directly at the rear of the bridge.
Each string ball end sits within a counterbore machined directly into the bridge body, allowing it to be discreetly integrated inside the component once the string is installed.
The position of the anchor points, the string routing, and the radii guiding each change in direction have been defined together to achieve a compact and coherent architecture.
Controlled preload.
Adjusting the intonation naturally causes the six saddles to occupy different positions, thereby altering the compression of their springs.
On the ORION, this difference is directly integrated into the geometry of the bridge.
On the inner side, dedicated counterbores house and guide each spring along its operating axis. Their depth is individually defined according to the theoretical position of each saddle resulting from the intonation setting.
This geometry makes it possible to maintain consistent spring preload despite the different positions of the six saddles.
Guided saddles.
The two outer saddles move within guide grooves machined directly into the body of the ORION, defining the overall alignment of the assembly.
The intermediate saddles, in turn, are guided by the complementary geometry of the adjacent saddles. Their design allows them to remain aligned with one another throughout the entire adjustment range.
The assembly therefore forms a continuous guidance chain, from the outer saddles through to the central saddles, without adding any additional parts or mechanisms.
This solution helps maintain the alignment of all six saddles while preserving a simple and compact architecture.
Six strings. Six independent adjustments.
The six saddles allow the intonation and height of each string to be adjusted individually.
This architecture makes it possible to precisely match the bridge radius to the fretboard radius while taking into account the specific characteristics of each instrument and the string gauge used.
The mechanisms remain simple and directly accessible, preserving the ease of adjustment expected from a Hardtail bridge.
Comfort in the details.
The contours, angles, and exposed surfaces are carefully radiused to improve playing comfort, particularly when palm muting.
The string paths are also carefully radiused to guide each change in direction without creating unnecessarily aggressive contact points.
As always at FAUVE, every detail serves a precise function and contributes to the coherence of the whole.
Fully machined from solid material.
At FAUVE, every component is fully machined from solid stock using carefully selected materials.
This approach provides complete control over geometry, dimensional precision, and repeatability for every component, while offering extensive freedom in the design of shapes, radii, and mechanical interfaces.
Every removal of material serves a purpose. Nothing is left to chance.
